Manual Handling Course

The Manual Handling course is designed to prevent workplace back injuries, it lasts from 3 - 4 hours with written and practical tests, the course costs from €45 to €90 and is becoming available in most counties. Many employers now require prospective employees to have manual handling cert. before they commence employment.

Manual Handling is a physical activity that takes place in every workplace, and in many cases the activities do not pose a problem, however some activities can be a potential workplace hazard when they involve moving heavy loads, working in a demanding environment, unfavourable ergonomic conditions or tasks unsuitable to particular individuals which could result in back injury. 30% of all workplace injuries involve manual handling accidents.

The Manual Handling Training Course is an interactive class comprised of several modules, with slide shows, props and some physical participation. The action learning class is a constant assessment class with a practical skills demonstration and written test to complete the training.
